Eine Krise beginnt oft in einem einzigen Augenblick. Ein Zuhause wird unbewohnbar, eine Familie zur Flucht gezwungen, der Zugang zu sauberem Wasser, Nahrung oder medizinischer Hilfe bricht zusammen. Für Kinder verändert sich damit nicht nur der Alltag. Oft gerät ihre gesamte Zukunft in Gefahr.
UNICEF ist dort, wenn Hilfe keinen Aufschub duldet. Innerhalb von 72 Stunden nach Ausbruch einer humanitären Krise erreichen lebenswichtige Hilfsgüter die betroffenen Regionen: sauberes Trinkwasser, therapeutische Nahrung, Medikamente, Schutzräume und Bildungsangebote. Auch dort, wo Infrastruktur zerstört ist und internationale Aufmerksamkeit längst weitergezogen ist.
Als weltweit führende Organisation für Kinder in Not arbeitet UNICEF in mehr als 190 Ländern und Territorien. Der Auftrag ist ebenso klar wie dringlich: Kinder zu schützen, ihr Überleben zu sichern und ihnen trotz Krieg, Katastrophen und Vertreibung eine Perspektive zu geben.
Mit der Kampagne „Für jedes Kind zählt. Jede Spende auch.“ erinnert UNICEF Austria daran, dass wirksame Hilfe nicht bei großen Gesten beginnt. Jede Spende kann dazu beitragen, ein Kind zu versorgen, zu schützen und ihm neue Hoffnung zu geben.
Denn jedes Kind zählt. Und jede Hilfe ebenso.
