Diplomatie, Partnerschaft und nationale Identität
Anlässlich des 20. Jahrestages der Unabhängigkeit und des Tags der Staatlichkeit Montenegros luden I.E. Stanica Anđić, Botschafterin Montenegros in der Republik Österreich, sowie S.E. Đorđe Radulović, Ständiger Vertreter Montenegros bei der OSZE, den Vereinten Nationen und weiteren internationalen Organisationen in Wien, zu einem festlichen Empfang.
Die Jubiläumsfeier fand am Dienstag, dem 7. Juli, unter dem Leitmotiv „2006–2026: Möge Montenegro ewig bestehen“ statt. Zahlreiche Mitglieder des Diplomatischen Korps, Vertreter aus Politik, Wirtschaft, Kultur, Kunst und Medien sowie prominente Persönlichkeiten der montenegrinischen Diaspora in Österreich folgten der Einladung und unterstrichen mit ihrer Anwesenheit die enge Verbundenheit mit dem jungen europäischen Staat.
Feierlicher Auftakt mit musikalischer Exzellenz
Den festlichen Rahmen eröffneten die Nationalhymnen Österreichs und Montenegros, eindrucksvoll interpretiert von einer jungen Solistin und einem eigens aus Montenegro angereisten Streichquartett. Die musikalische Darbietung verlieh der Veranstaltung einen würdevollen und zugleich emotionalen Auftakt.
Europäische Perspektive im Mittelpunkt
In ihren Ansprachen hoben Botschafterin Stanica Anđić und Botschafter Đorđe Radulović die strategische Bedeutung des bevorstehenden EU-Beitritts Montenegros hervor. Beide betonten die konsequente Ausrichtung des Landes auf den europäischen Integrationsprozess und würdigten zugleich die nachhaltige Unterstützung Österreichs auf diesem Weg. Die bilateralen Beziehungen, so der Tenor der Reden, seien von gegenseitigem Vertrauen, Partnerschaft und gemeinsamen europäischen Werten geprägt.

Empfang mit montenegrinischer Gastfreundschaft
Im Anschluss an den offiziellen Teil lud die Botschaft zu einem Empfang ein. Serviert wurden ausgewählte montenegrinische Weine, während großformatige Projektionen die landschaftliche Vielfalt, das kulturelle Erbe und die touristischen Schönheiten Montenegros präsentierten.

Montenegro Celebrates 20 Years of Independence – A Ceremonial Reception in Vienna Highlighting Its European Future
Diplomacy, Partnership and National Identity
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Montenegro’s Independence Day and Statehood Day, H.E. Stanica Anđić, Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Austria, together with H.E. Đorđe Radulović, Permanent Representative of Montenegro to the OSCE, the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, hosted a distinguished ceremonial reception.
Held on Tuesday, 7 July, under the motto “2006–2026: May Montenegro Live Forever,” the anniversary celebration brought together numerous members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of politics, business, culture, the arts and the media, as well as distinguished members of the Montenegrin diaspora in Austria. Their presence reflected the close bonds between Montenegro and Austria and underscored the significance of this important national milestone.
A Ceremonial Opening with Musical Excellence
The evening began with the national anthems of Austria and Montenegro, beautifully performed by a young soloist accompanied by a string quartet specially invited from Montenegro for the occasion. Their remarkable performance created a dignified and deeply moving atmosphere, setting the tone for the celebration.

A European Future at the Forefront
In their keynote addresses, Ambassador Stanica Anđić and Ambassador Đorđe Radulović emphasized the strategic importance of Montenegro’s forthcoming accession to the European Union. Both speakers reaffirmed the country’s unwavering commitment to the European integration process and expressed their sincere appreciation for Austria’s steadfast support throughout this journey. They stressed that the bilateral relationship between the two countries is built upon mutual trust, close partnership and a shared commitment to European values.
A Reception Celebrating Montenegrin Hospitality
Following the official programme, the Embassy welcomed guests to a reception showcasing the warmth of Montenegrin hospitality. A selection of premium Montenegrin wines was served while large-scale projections highlighted the country’s spectacular landscapes, rich cultural heritage and diverse tourist attractions. In a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, guests enjoyed the opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen existing relationships and establish new connections, bringing to a fitting close an evening that celebrated Montenegro’s enduring friendship with Austria and its confident path toward a European future.
