Am 22. März fand in Wien ein außergewöhnliches und einzigartiges Konzert mit Stücken großer Meister unter dem edlen Motto des Gebens statt.
Es handelte sich um ein Benefizkonzert mit dem berühmten Pianisten Abdel Rahman El Bacha zugunsten des Nationalen Konservatoriums in Beirut.
Das Konzert fand im Musikquartier in Wien statt und die Begrüßung der versammelten Konzertbesucher übernahm Gregor Willmes, Vorstand der Carl Bechstein Stiftung, gefolgt von einer Begrüßungsrede von S.E. Ibrahim Assaf, Botschafter des Libanon in der Republik Österreich.
Er trat schon im Mozarteum in Salzburg, im Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, im Concertgebouw in Amsterdam und im Herkulessaal in München auf. Der aus Beirut stammende El Blaha spielte als Solist mit den Berliner Philharmonikern, dem Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, dem Orchestre de Paris und dem Orchestre Natio – nal de France, mit dem belgischen Nationalorchester, dem NHK Tokyo und dem Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Das weit gefächerte Repertoire des Pianisten basiert vor allem auf den Werken von Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Ravel und Prokofjew und füllt etwa sechzig Konzerte.
Der berühmte libanesische Pianist nahm die Besucher des Benefizkonzerts an diesem Abend mit auf eine wundervolle Fantasie-Reise mit den magischen Melodien von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Fantasie c-Moll KV 475, Ludwig van Beethoven – Fantasie g-Moll op. 77 Frédéric Chopin – Fantasie f-Moll op. 49, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy – Fantasie fis-Moll op. 28, Manuel De Falla – Fantasia Baetica und Mili Balakirev – Orientalische Fantasie „Islamey“.

Benefit concert with Abdel Rahman El Bacha for the National Conservatory in Beirut
On March 22nd an extraordinary and unique concert with pieces by great masters took place in Vienna under the noble motto of giving.
It was a benefit concert with the famous pianist Abdel Rahman El Bacha for the National Conservatory in Beirut.
The concert took place in the Musikquartier in Vienna and the assembled concert-goers were welcomed by Gregor Willmes, Chairman of the Carl Bechstein Foundation, followed by a welcome speech by HE Ibrahim Assaf, Ambassador of Lebanon to the Republic of Austria.
He has performed at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Herkulessaal in Munich. Hailing from Beirut, El Blaha has performed as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchester de Paris and the Orchester National de France, the Belgian National Orchestra, the NHK Tokyo and the Orchester de la Suisse Romande. The pianist’s wide-ranging repertoire is based primarily on the works of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Ravel and Prokofiev and fills around sixty concerts.
The famous Lebanese pianist took the audience of the benefit concert that evening on a wonderful fantasy journey with the magical melodies of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Fantasy in C minor KV 475, Ludwig van Beethoven – Fantasy in G minor op. 77 Frédéric Chopin – Fantasy F minor op. 49, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy – Fantasy in F sharp minor op. 28, Manuel De Falla – Fantasia Baetica and Mili Balakirev – Oriental Fantasy “Islamey”.
