Am 9. September fand in der Residenz des Botschafters der Islamischen Republik Iran in Wien eine besondere Feier statt. Anlass war der 1500. Jahrestag der Geburt des Propheten Muhammad der von der Organisation für Islamische Zusammenarbeit (OIC) auf der 51. Sitzung des Rates der Außenminister in Istanbul im Juni 2025 offiziell zum “Year of Commemoration of the 1500th Anniversary of the Birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Prophet of Mercy” (Gedenkjahr zum 1500. Jahrestag der Geburt des Propheten Muhammad (Friede sei mit ihm), des Propheten der Barmherzigkeit), erklärt wurde.

Seine Exzellenz Asadollah Eshragh Jahromi, Botschafter der Islamischen Republik Iran in Österreich, lud zu diesem feierlichen Empfang zahlreiche Gäste ein. Nach der Eröffnungsrede des Botschafters sprach ein Imam über das Leben und die Botschaft des Propheten Muhammad.

Die Veranstaltung wurde durch ein musikalisches Rahmenprogramm ergänzt und klang mit einem Empfang aus, bei dem die Gäste Gelegenheit zum persönlichen Austausch hatten.

1500th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad was celebrated with a reception at the Iranian Embassy in Vienna

On September 9, a special reception was held at the residence of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vienna to mark the 1500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) had officially proclaimed 2025 as the “Year of Commemoration of the 1500th Anniversary of the Birth of Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet of Mercy” during its 51st Council of Foreign Ministers session in Istanbul in June 2025.

His Excellency Asadollah Eshragh Jahromi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Austria, welcomed the invited guests to the reception. Following the ambassador’s opening speech, an Imam addressed the audience with reflections on the life and message of Prophet Muhammad.

The evening was rounded off with a musical program and a reception, offering space for dialogue and exchange among the attendees.
