Wenn Dudelsackklänge durch die Wiener Theresianumgasse ertönen,
bedeutet das nur eines: Es wird der St. Patrick’s Day gefeiert.
Anlässlich des St. Patrick’s Day lud am 12. März I.E. Barbara Cullinane, Botschafterin von Irland und Ständige Vertreterin Irlands bei den internationalen Organisationen in Wien, zu einem diplomatischen Empfang in der Residenz der irischen Botschafterin ein.
Schon wenn man sich der Residenz von Botschafterin Cullinane näherte, wurden die Gäste von Dudelsackklängen empfangen.

Obwohl es für den Wiener Empfang anlässlich der Feier des St. Patrick’s Day keinen Dresscode gab, zeigten viele Gäste ihren Respekt gegenüber dem Gastgeberland, indem sie mit Accessoires in Grün erschienen – das Markenzeichen des irischen Feiertags.
Nach dem offiziellen Teil folgte ein gemütlicher Empfang, bei dem der St. Patrick’s Day mit Spezialitäten von der Grünen Insel gebührend gefeiert wurde.

St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated in Vienna with the sound of bagpipes
When the sound of bagpipes echoes through Vienna’s Theresianumgasse,
it can only mean one thing: St. Patrick’s Day is being celebrated.
On the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day, on March 12, H.E. Barbara Cullinane, Ambassador of Ireland and Permanent Representative of Ireland to the International Organizations in Vienna, hosted a diplomatic reception at the residence of the Irish Ambassador.
Even as guests approached Ambassador Cullinane’s residence, they were greeted by the sounds of bagpipes.
At the beginning of the reception, Ambassador Barbara Cullinane addressed the assembled guests with a welcoming speech.
Although there was no dress code for the Vienna St. Patrick’s Day reception, many guests showed their respect for the host country by appearing with accessories in green – the trademark of the Irish holiday.
After the formal part of the event, a pleasant reception followed, where St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated in style with specialties from the Emerald Isle.
